With Christmas just around the corner (only 82 more sleeps!), now is a perfect time to plan for the clean-out of end of life and unused archives and e-waste. Many business, schools and organisations have a backlog of archive boxes in storage, with many items no longer required under local protocols or legal/tax requirements. The same applies to outdated or retired ewaste. We encourage you to be proactive and begin the process now, so that you can start the new year with a clean slate.
eWaste can mean not only unused computers and monitors, but also telephones systems, mobile phones, old printers, TVs you name it. Even power tools come into the equation. Not only are you saving time and money by disposing of e waste, you are also abiding by the new privacy laws which were updated in March this year - further information about privacy obligations are here. Make sure that whoever you choose the collect and destroy your ewaste is AAA rated with NAID so you receive a certificate and are protected against privacy infringements.
Archive boxes also need to be destroyed correctly and your office may have 5 or 6 sitting around, or may have an entire warehouse full. Again the new privacy regulations apply, so if you aren't required for legal or ATO reasons to retain all the customer and supplier items in these boxes, you must have them correctly collected and destroyed. We offer archive box collection and destruction and can even collect pallets. Don't worry if your archive boxes are very old and falling apart, and don't be concerned if documents and files within the archive boxes have binders and paper clips etc.. A qualified document destruction company can handle these and have them disposed of correctly.
